- Manages the day-to-day affairs of WEC
- Recruits new members
- Ensures that current Member Committees are functional and that they represent the energy sectors in their countries
- Reports to the WEC Chairman and the Officers Council
- Serves as Secretary of the Officers Council
- Submits and implements an annual budget and business plan, both of which are approved by the Executive Assembly, to help guide the Standing Committees in their work
- Meets regularly with ministers, chief executives and other energy decision-makers throughout the world and uses the information from these exchanges to develop longer term priorities and future Congresses plans.
