Message from the Minister of Power & Energy
Chairman, Organising Committee

It is with great pleasure that Sri Lanka hosts the Executive Assembly of the World Energy Council in 2005.While being founder member of the World Energy Council this is the first occasion that Sri Lanka hosts the Executive Assembly.

I consider it my duty and privilege as the patron of the Sri Lanka Energy Council which is also the Sri Lanka Member Committee of the World Energy Council, Chairman of the Organizing Committee hosting this event,and the Minister of Power & Energy,to extend a very warm welcome to the delegates of this Executive Assembly and the distinguished officers of the World Energy Council.

We are determined to ensure that all arrangements will be in place for you to take part in one of the most successful Executive Assemblies hosted by a member country, even in the backdrop of the devastating impact of the recent Tsunami. I wish you a very pleasant stay in Sri Lanka during and after the Executive Assembly and hope you will find time to explore and experience the culture and the environment of this great island nation.
