Studies Committee

After consultations with WEC Member Committees, NGO's and IGO's throughout the world and as agreed during the Executive Assembly meetings held in Montreal, Canada during the 21st World Energy Congress in September 2010, the WEC Studies Committee has committed to focus on a limited number of WEC activities and related focus areas. Those activities are of a long-term, visionary, strategic nature focussing on the development of own methodology and data and will be:

Survey of Energy Resources and Technologies
Energy and Climate Policies Assessment
Global Energy Scenarios

The activities are supported by cross-cutting Knowledge Networks. Those Knowledge Network focus on the most important energy-related challenges / themes and will change over time as priorities shift. The Studies Committee has committed to focus on:

Energy Efficiency Policies and Energy Efficient Technologies
Energy and Mobility
Innovative Financing Mechanisms
Performance of Generating Plants
Cleaner Fossil Fuel Systems
