Energy is again on the top of the political agenda in many countries. The post Fukushima nuclear future,
the game changing shale gas, supply uncertainty and price volatility, the need for reducing the global CO2
emissions and the related climate framework uncertainty, as well as the global recession are rocking the
foundation of the roadmap into our energy future. The global energy sector faces huge challenges over
the coming decades in order to address these uncertainties and transform the energy system towards
sustainable energy.
What worries the energy leaders and who is setting the agenda?
2013 World Energy Issues Monitor published by World Energy Council gives an idea of this. It will be
presented by Einari Kisel, Senior Fellow, European Policies & Partnership Development, WEC.
His presentation will be followed up with views of the important issues on the Danish energy agenda,
presented by The Danish Energy Industries Federation and the Danish Energy Agency.
Finally we will launch our own Danish issues mapping process in conjunction with this event.
The participating members will be asked to complete the WEC survey during the course of
the event to develop a national map for Denmark.
