2013 Canadian Energy Summit

Following agendas are to be addressed:

1. Delivering Energy to People

The Council of the Federation is considering addressing four particular action items under this item section.   They include: the development of transmission and transportation networks for domestic and export/import sources of energy; improvements to the regulatory approval and decision-making processes; promotion of market diversification; and provincial and territorial participation in international discussions and negotiations on energy.

2. Sustainability and Conservation

Three action items are specified in this section, they are; promoting energy efficiency and conservation; transitioning to a lower carbon economy; and, enhancement of energy information and awareness.

3. Technology and Innovation

Three action items for this section are; acceleration in the development and deployment of energy research and technologies advancing production transmission and use of clean and convenient energy sources; development and implementation strategies for energy-sector human resource needs; and, the development of renewable, green and/or cleaner energy sources to meet future demand and contribute to environmental goals and priorities.
