Abu Dhabi establishing Organising Committee for 2019 World Energy Congress

Preparatory work for the 2019 Abu Dhabi World Energy Congress has begun with the UAE National Committee establishing the Organising Committee to start the procedures required to host the event. The Committee is working in close partnership with local and federal entities to ensure the success of the event, which is scheduled to become one of the leading events on the 2019 agenda in the UAE.

Chair calls for speed, focus and results to reduce the risks posed by climate change

Following on from the opening addresses given by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Ms Nadeau said:
The Paris Agreement is only a starting point for governments and the energy industry. It will not stabilise the climate, but the collective efforts of 195 countries who have published their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions, INDCs, will go a long way.

The new report ‘E-storage – shifting from cost to value: wind and solar applications’ is calling for the true value of energy storage to be recognised by taking into account both its cost and revenue benefits.
