The 2013 World Energy Issues Monitor is the latest of the WEC's annual assessment of the issues impacting the global and regional energy sector based on the views of the WEC's energy leadership community. It identifies the key uncertainties while highlighting the areas where action is most required to enable the sustainable supply and use of energy. For the first time, the study this year includes specific assessments of selected countries: Colombia, Germany, India, Indonesia, South Africa, and Switzerland. |

To assist policymakers and the energy industry with pressing forward sustainable energy systems, the World Energy Council, in collaboration with project partner Oliver Wyman, publishes the report World Energy Trilemma 2012: Time to get real – the case for sustainable energy policy. Based on interviews with more than 40 industry CEOs and senior executives from across the global energy sector, the 2012 edition provides policymakers with the energy industry’s views on what is needed from policies in order to meet the challenges of the Energy Trilemma: energy security, social equity and environmental impact mitigation. The report also includes the 2012 Energy Sustainability Index, a global ranking of 93 WEC member countries based on their performance on the three aspects of the energy trilemma. |
