Membership of the Danish National Committee of WEC (WEC Denmark) provides direct contact to the Danish, Nordic and international energy world. Many Danish companies use WEC in various markets including contact care and commercial leads. The members of WEC Denmark include energy companies, research institutions, industrial companies, professional organisations, associations, authorities, consultants and contractors, educational institutions and universities.

Chair: Hans Larsen

Chair

Dr Hans Larsen is the Chair of the Danish National Committee of the World Energy Council and a former member of the WEC Programme Committee (2004-2010). He is Vice Dean and Head of DTU National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, Technical University of Denmark. He has many years of experience with international research in and management of research projects in relation to energy systems analysis and climate change technologies. He is a member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences and he was a member of the Bureau for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 2003-2007, and review editor on energy. He is the Chairman of the Management and Policy Committee for the UNEP Collaborating Centre on Energy and Environment. He is editor-in-chief for the Risø Energy Report series and Chairman for the International Scientific Programme Committees for the semi-annual Risø International Energy conferences 2003 to 2011.

Secretary: Leif Petersen

Secretary

Leif Sønderberg Petersen is Secretary of the Danish National Committee of the World Energy Council. He is the Chief Consultant at the DTU National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy. He is also the editor for the DTU International Energy report series and a member of the Local Organising Committee for DTU International Energy conferences. The subjects for his current projects include energy systems, future prospects for new and renewable energy technologies, energy scenarios, climate change issues and global perspectives.
