The Hong Kong Member Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC HK) has been part of the WEC family for over a decade. Their members are composed of electric and gas utilities as well as a power equipment manufacturer.

WEC Member Committee of Hong Kong, China maintains a good relationship and engages with the Hong Kong SAR government, industry leaders and local academia to support WEC’s activities and projects such as policy assessment surveys and various studies.
Andrew Brandler joined CLP as the Group’s Chief Executive Officer in 2000 and has since developed CLP as a leading investor-owned power business in Asia with a strong presence in Hong Kong, the Mainland, India, Australia and Southeast Asia. Mr Brandler has had an extensive career as a banker in the energy and utility sector in North America, Europe and Asia. His experience covers power sector deregulation in the USA in the 1980s and the UK electricity industry privatisation and deregulation in the 1990s. Mr Brandler is a Council Member of The Hong Kong Management Association, a member of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, as well as a member of the Aviation Development Advisory Committee and the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. Mr Brandler is also one of the Co-Chairs of the Energy and Climate Focus Area Core Team of the Geneva-based World Business Council for Sustainable Development. From May 2008 to May 2010, he was the Chairman of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
Dr Cheng is the Secretary General of the World Energy Council Hong Kong National Committee. He received his B. Eng. from the University of Saskatchewan, and his M.Eng. and Ph.D. from McGill University. He is currently the Manager of Technology Research & Deployment of CLP Holdings based in Hong Kong. He is a P.Eng., registered in Ontario, and a member of HKIE, CIGRE and IERE.
