Netherlands Member Committee

The Netherlands National Committee aims to promote sustainable energy development in the Netherlands, as a part of the WEC’s energy vision. As a member of the WEC network, the organisation is committed to representing the national perspective of the Netherlands within national, regional and global energy debates. The committee includes a variety of members to ensure that the diverse energy interests of the Netherlands are appropriately represented. Members of the committee are invited to attend high-level events, participate in energy-focused study groups, contribute to technical research and be a part of the global energy dialogue.

Chair: Jeroen van Hoof

Jeroen (48), a father of 4 daughters, joint PwC in 1993 and serves as a partner as of 2003. Jeroen is focussed on the Energy & Utility (E&U) industry and has served many clients, both in the Oil- and Gas and the Utilities sector. These include listed companies, both local and internationally lead. Apart form serving as (lead) audit partner, he coordinated various carve outs, debt placements and some large Utility deals and restructurings. As of 2009 Jeroen leads the Dutch and EMEA Energy & Utility (E&U) practice (Assurance, Tax and Advisory) and as of 2012 he is part of the Global EUM leadership team. Jeroen is part of the global Shell core team representing PwC Europe and coordinating and monitoring our activities and the quality thereof for a.o. P&T and New energies. Jeroen has advised many Energy companies active in the Netherlands, the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs and the AFM/ACM on certain industry (regulatory) matters and supports our network to the IASB on industry related accounting issues. Jeroen has set up our internal and external international learning E&U programme (with EDI, Shell and the RUG) including an Energy post master hosted in Houston, Moscow and the Middle East.
Since 2015 Jeroen chairs the Dutch WEC (world Energy council) and he is a member of the “curratorium” of the post master controllers programme at the RUG. Jeroen is a board member of the Clingendael Institute for International Energy Studies as of 2016.

In his spare time Jeroen likes reading, skiing and playing Tennis.

Qualifications
Jeroen has a Masters degree (drs.) in Economics and Business as well as a postgraduate Registered Accountancy (RA) degree from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam (The Netherlands).
He is fluent in Dutch and English and has a working knowledge of French and German.
