The World Energy Council Launches Worldenergycareers.org
Energy-specific Job Website Will Connect Energy Employers and Professionals around the World
The World Energy Council (WEC), the world's preeminent multi-energy organisation, has partnered with MBA Focus and Career Services LLC to launch www.worldenergycareers.org, a career portal designed to fill the growing human resources gap in the energy industry by connecting well-qualified energy professionals with potential employers.
Worldenergycareers.org is a flexible online system that features a global job board as well as an extensive CV database of students and professionals from engineering, business, and other relevant backgrounds. Jobseekers can register multiple CVs, browse jobs, and apply for positions online. Employers can post their vacancies and search through the database of available candidates using multiple search criteria.
In launching the career portal website Gerald Doucet, WEC Secretary General, said, "The members of WEC consistently tell us that one of the greatest challenges they face in their businesses is the shortage of skilled energy professionals. Worldenergycareers.org will play a critical role in alleviating this problem. By putting top-tier energy professionals in touch with energy employers from around the world, WEC is helping to overcome the energy industry's human resources bottleneck."
WEC has partnered with Career Services, LLC to run the day to day operations of this unique career offering to candidates interested in the energy industry and the firms within that industry. WEC is also partnering with MBA Focus, LLC to work with top global MBA programs to help these programs better understand the vast opportunities that exist for their students and alumni in the field of energy. "We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with the World Energy Council to help facilitate a better understanding of the global career opportunities in energy and top global MBA programs" Greg Ruf, CEO MBA Focus.
Jim Cook, President of Career Services, added, "This is an outstanding opportunity for companies within the energy industry to recruit highly sought after candidates in an efficient and cost-effective way. We are proud to announce that we will be offering free job postings and free CV/resume searching through October 31, 2008."
Worldenergycareers.org is a crucial component of WEC's commitment to developing the Future Energy Leaders Community, a global group of young energy professionals who will become the energy leaders of tomorrow. The careers website will be continuously updated and enhanced in the lead up to WEC's World Energy Congress in Montreal 2010.
