Assessment for Energy Policies and Practises (tbc)

This is a periodic report assessing practises, by country and by selected policy or programme, which aim to achieve results that meet the three sustainability goals of WEC, Accessibility (inequalities), Availability (economic growth), and Acceptability (global and local environmental challenges). The objective is to impact the UN framework process to address climate change, specifically in the COP-14 meeting in December 2008 in Poland and at the Copenhagen COP-15 meeting in 2009. This latter meeting is the termination of the 2-year "Bali" process looking at defining a post-Kyoto protocol. Vulnerabilities in the energy system which include, worker shortages, manufacturing bottlenecks, water for energy, and logistics will be prominent metrics/indicators in the Assessment. Discussion and presentations will part of the Montreal Congress in 2010.
