2014: Cartagena, Colombia

banner para revistelThe Executive Assembly is the annual meeting of the World Energy Council, the UN-accredited energy body and the global energy leaders’ network promoting the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all.

In 2014 the Executive Assembly was hosted in Cartagena de Indias by COCME, the Colombian Member Committee of the World Energy Council. The full week of events welcome the members of the World Energy Council community and representatives from the Colombian, Latin American and the energy sectors from around the world for a series of open and private discussion sessions on energy issues, where participants discussed options for delivering sustainable energy systems on national, regional and global levels.

Energy Ministers and leaders from the business, finance and academia world shared best practice and identified solutions to the Energy Trilemma during dedicated session including the World Energy Leaders’, the Future Energy Leaders’ and Energy Trilemma Summits.

The event also hosted the World Energy Council’s major governance meetings, culminating in the full Executive Assembly Plenary, where the World Energy Council’s members agreed on the strategic direction of the organisation.
