The next YEP network meeting will take place in the afternoon of 21 March 2019 in the Aspern Urban Lakeside – Smart City Vienna.

Mr. Robert Grüneis, Managing Director of Aspern Smart City Research (ASCR) will present the concept of the Smart City. Wien 3420 AG will present the urban planning aspects of a modern business location.

The Urban Lakeside Aspern is one of the largest urban construction projects in Europe. The planning area, which is still undeveloped in many places, is a perfect place to test clever ideas, concepts and technologies in the sense of the Smart City Vienna framework strategy. The Urban Lakeside will be developed in several stages until 2028 and offers plenty of space for forward-looking projects.

The research project Aspern Smart City Research was awarded in 2016 as the best energy research project. At the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, it won against more than 250 projects from 45 countries.

For three years now, the Aspern Smart City Research team has been researching energy efficiency using real data from buildings used in different ways. The aim of the research work is to optimize both urban energy generation and energy consumption in urban areas. The findings of Aspern Smart City Research will ultimately be applicable to entire cities.
