The workshop will investigate the challenges and opportunities for the Middle Eastern region in adjusting its energy supply and use to meet post-2015 sustainability goals and the expected impact on social and economic development, as well as policy, regulation and market design. Sustainability goals include increasing energy access and reducing GHG emissions; both have to be considered bearing in mind the fundamental objective of energy security and economic growth. The discussion and input of regional experts will feed into the 2015 World Energy Trilemma report to be published in June 2015.
