Denmark is number two in the world in delivering secure, affordable and sustainable energy, according to the World Energy Councils 2013 Energy Sustainability Index. A great ranking, but why are we not number one? We claim to have the world’s most ambitious climate and energy policy, yet we are overtaken by a hitherto neglected country in this context.

WEC Denmark will welcome Joan MacNaughton, Executive Chair of the team behind the report, to come to Copenhagen and present and discuss the study and its findings.

Besides Joan MacNaughton we will have contributions from a Danish perspective by Hans Peter Slente, Director, DI Energy, and finally a developing countries perspective by John M. Christensen, Head of the UNEP Risø Centre, a leading international research and advisory institution on energy, climate and sustainable development.

Hans Hvidtfeldt Larsen, Vice Dean, DTU National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, President of WEC Denmark, will introduce the meeting.
