Breaking boundaries:The changing role of technology
Implications for business and government

In an increasingly data driven world, one where technology innovation has little respect for traditional industry boundaries, the energy sector needs to rethink its traditional business model.

Come and hear Lawrence (Larry) M. Howell share his experience and insights on the evolution of technology and its drivers. Larry will also share his perspectives on what technology will flourish or fail and why, and on the role of government in the encouragement of new innovative technology.

Take this opportunity to network and enjoy a light lunch previous to the event. The doors will be open from 12:00pm and we will start the presentation 12:30pm.

The BusinessNZ Enegry Council and Lawrence Howell are looking forward to hosting you.

Mr. Howell has had two long and distinct career paths. One of Investment Banking and Finance covering 25+ years working for two of the largest Investment Banking firms in the U.S. (Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley); and the second, as a private company investor, individual shareowner, and active Board of Directors Member (mostly as Chairman or as Head of Audit Committee) for a series of young, innovative start-ups around the Country.

After stepping down from investment banking in 1996, Mr. Howell founded his own private investment firm called Howell Capital, to make investments in early to late stage innovation technologies and consumer-facing companies. Mr. Howell currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Bivium Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based, minority-owned, asset management firm with over $1.4 billion of Assets Under Management; and as Senior Advisor and former Board member at Ecologic Brands, Inc., an award winning, national manufacturer and distributor of sustainable packaging solutions, based in Oakland, CA.
