Saint Petersburg to host the 25th World Energy Congress in 2022

The World Energy Council is pleased to announce Russia as the winner of the bid to host the 2022 World Energy Congress, the premier triennial gathering of the energy sector.

The announcement follows a vote by the Council’s member countries in an excitingly contested campaign between Portugal, Russia and the United States. St Petersburg will become the site for the 25th World Energy Congress.

 

Bids to host the 25th World Energy Congress in 2022

Member committees received a request for proposals to host the 25th World Energy Congress on 20 November 2017 and the final bid documentation was released for prospective bidders on 9 April 2018, with a due date for bids of 21 May 2018. The online voting took place from 29 June onwards, and the Host was confirmed on 30 July 2018. The RFP documents are available on this website in the bid requirements section.
