World Energy Congress Bids

Bidding to host the 26th World Energy Congress

The Council is delighted to present two bids for hosting the 26th World Energy Council for member committee’s consideration. We extend our thanks to each bidder and their teams for all their time, effort and commitment in submitting their bids. We also thank all parties that expressed an interest in bidding during the process.

Following detailed review of the bid materials and dialogue with bidders, the Officers and Finance Committee of the Council, together with the Secretariat, are pleased to confirm that each bid represents a viable proposition, meets the essential criteria required, and is sound and compliant with the bid requirements.

Voting

We recognise that Member Committees will consider a range of factors when casting their vote. The winner will be decided by a simple majority vote. Please review the bids carefully before voting. Electronic voting will open on 7 October 2020, following presentations from both bidders at the Executive Assembly on 6 October 2020. Voting will close on 6 November 2020 and the winning bidder will be announced on 16 November 2020.
