Ardit is a licensed lawyer specialized in international energy law. He served as an Advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania through the LEAD Albania Leadership Program. Previously, he served as an External Advisor at the Albanian Energy Regulatory Agency working on energy regulatory issues and the implementation of the EU Third Energy package into the Albanian national energy legislation. While serving in the public sector his work consisted in fostering effective energy transition policies for governance and materializing these policies into national hard law. The underpinning principle of his work is energy security, energy equity, and environmental sustainability. He holds a bachelor of laws, a LL.M Energy & Natural Resources from Queen Mary University of London (Chevening Scholarship, UK), a LL.M International Business Law from Coventry University (UK), and an Ex.Edu.Cert. in Leadership and Negotiation from Harvard University (USA).
The Energy Charter Secretariat was established by the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) and based in Brussels. The Treaty (ECT) is an international investment agreement that establishes a multilateral framework for cross-border cooperation in the energy industry. The Energy Charter Secretariat provides the Energy Charter Conference with all necessary assistance for the performance of its duties and carry out the functions assigned to it in the Energy Charter Treaty or in any Protocol and any other functions assigned to it by the Charter Conference.
