Senior Energy Policy Analyst

International Energy Research Centre

Piyush Verma works as Senior Energy Policy Analyst at the International Energy Research Centre and currently based in Cork City, Ireland. He works on the intersection of technology, policy, society, and the environment, and has significant experience researching, developing and implementing energy transition policies in India, Vanuatu, New Zealand and Ireland.   He has joined the Future Energy Leader Programme in 2018. He also works as the Vice-Chair of Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva and as Ireland Ambassador in Global Blockchain Business Council, Washington, DC.  Piyush is an Electrical Engineer, a postgraduate in Power Systems, and has a PhD in Energy Efficiency Technology and Policy from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has also completed a Mini MBA in Strategy & Leadership from Irish Management Institute and a Policy Design and Delivery Programme from Harvard Kennedy School, USA

The International Energy Research Centre (IERC) is a centre of international excellence in integrated energy systems research funded b ythe  Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Government of Ireland, and hosted at Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland.
