Korea Gas Safety Corporation
Working as a manager at Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Yena has been a part of sustainable energy developments, official development assistance (ODA) projects that support developing countries, equipping them with gas safety regulations, technologies and standards. Under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Gas Safety Corporation is a government testing, inspection and R&D organisation that enacts, revises and enforces High-pressure gas, LPG and City gas related laws, largely ensuring safety of practices. The environment and the ethics of human lives are at the core of Yena’s work, so it comes naturally that she understands the importance of implementing the right green energy policies. Yena is passionate about a hydrogen economy in Korea, as reflected in her involvement with Hydrogen Refueling Stations safety regulations work and her research on establishing high certification standards in innovation industries for Korea's Hydrogen Vehicle Certification Standards. Yena hopes her analytical private sector experience together with her current energy policy research for a PhD in Science at KAIST Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology will take her a step closer in envisioning a greener tomorrow. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from University of Otago and a Masters degree from KDI Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management.
