The Iran National Committee aims to promote sustainable energy development in Iran, as a part of the World Energy Council’s energy vision. As a member of the World Energy Council network, the organisation is committed to representing the Iranian perspective within national, regional and global energy debates. The committee includes a variety of members to ensure that the diverse energy interests of Iran are appropriately represented. Members of the committee are invited to attend high-level events, participate in energy-focused study groups, contribute to technical research and be a part of the global energy dialogue.
Dr Davood Manzoor was born in Tehran in 1965. He received his BA and MA in economics at Imam Sadiq University in 1986 and 1990, respectively. He graduated with a PhD in economics in 2000 from Tehran University. He is currently stands as the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran. His positions in the industry include Director General of Energy Planning at the Ministry of Energy (2005-2006), Director General of Strategic Planning and Budgeting at the Ministry of Energy (2006-2009), Deputy Minister for Planning and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Energy (2009-2011), Deputy Vice-President for Planning at the Vice Presidency of Planning and Strategic Control (2011-2012). He has also been a faculty member of the department of economics at Imam Sadiq University since 1990, where he was honoured with an Associate Professorship of Economics in 2011. Dr Manzoor is an associate editor of “Iran Energy Journal”, “Iranian Quarterly Journal of Economic Research and Policies” and the editor of “Iranian Quarterly Journal of Energy Policies and Planning Research”. He has published more than 40 Journal Papers and more than 20 Conference Papers.
