Paraguay Member Committee

The Paraguay National Committee aims to promote sustainable energy development in Paraguay, as a part of the WEC’s energy vision. As a member of the WEC network, the organisation is committed to representing the Paraguayan perspective within national, regional and global energy debates. The committee includes a variety of members to ensure that the diverse energy interests of Paraguay are appropriately represented. Members of the committee are invited to attend high-level events, participate in energy-focused study groups, contribute to technical research and be a part of the global energy dialogue.

Chair: Ramón Jiménez-Gaona

The Minister imenez Gaona holds an Economics degree and a Master's Degree in Economic Development from the Center for Latin American Studies Program at the University of California at Berkeley.

Secretary: Mauricio Bejarano

Mr Mauricio Bejarano is currently Viceminister of Mines and Energy the Ministry of Public Works and Communications of Paraguay. Mr Bejarano has also served as external consultant to the Viceministry of Minas and Energy (2011-2012), and as a consultant to the Commission of Energy, Minas and Hydrocarbons, Chamber of Deputies (2013-2014). He has a Bachelor of Laws - Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay, a master’s degree in Private Law - Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina, a master’s degree in Business and Energy Law - Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a certificate in University Teaching – Universidad Americana, and a certificate in Leadership and Public Administration Management - Escuela Nacional de Administración, Paris – France
