Singapore Member Committee


The Singapore National Committee aims to promote sustainable energy development in Singapore, as a part of the Council’s energy vision. As a member of the Council’s network, the organisation is committed to representing the Singaporean perspective within national, regional and global energy debates. The committee includes a variety of members to ensure that the diverse energy interests of Singapore are appropriately represented. Members of the committee are invited to attend high-level events, participate in energy-focused study groups, contribute to technical research and be a part of the global energy dialogue.

Chair: Lim Kong Puay

Mr Lim Kong Puay is a Senior Advisor in Tuas Power and a
Director of the Board of Tuas Power. He was the former President
and Chief Executive Officer of Tuas Power, a position which he
held for 14 years, from 2004 till his retirement at end August 2018.
He is also an independent non-executive Director of Cache Logistic
Trust, a real estate investment trust (REIT) that is listed in the
Singapore Stock Exchange.

Mr Lim has more than 35 years of experience in the electricity
industry of Singapore, covering the operation of large power plant,
managing and competing in the deregulated market of Singapore
in electricity generation, trading and retailing.
He had also diversified the company business to new areas in
providing utilities such as steam, tank storage, industrial water and
waste water treatment to industrial customers in the Tuas area and
on Jurong Island.

Mr Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore with a
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in 1981. He is
also a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers of Singapore and a
Professional Engineer (Mechanical) registered with the
Professional Engineers Board in Singapore.
