Swaziland Member Committee

The Swaziland National Committee aims to promote sustainable energy development in Swaziland, as a part of the WEC’s energy vision. As a member of the WEC network, the organisation is committed to representing the Swaziland national perspective within national, regional and global energy debates. The committee includes a variety of members to ensure that the diverse energy interests of Swaziland are appropriately represented. Members of the committee are invited to attend high-level events, participate in energy-focused study groups, contribute to technical research and be a part of the global energy dialogue.

Lindiwe Dlamini is a Senior Energy Officer at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy in Swaziland. Her diverse portfolio includes overseeing the Petroleum Inspection Unit, biofuels industry development as well as coordinating climate change and energy issues for the Energy Department. After completing her first degree in Chemical Engineering, Lindiwe went on to complete a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management. She is now pursuing a masters degree in Environmental Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand. Lindiwe's role at the Ministry involves project management, proposal development and resource mobilisation especially for climate change related projects. Her passion for sustainable development and leadership skills have seen her being elected as a member of the SADC Biofuels Task Team; the National Climate Change Committee; the National Core Team on Sustainable Development as well as the UNDP Board on Environment and Climate Change. Lindiwe has worked on a number of key projects including an ethanol blending pilot project, the development of an action plan and national strategy on biofuel developmemt. Lindiwe is currently focused on the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative. She is also actively involved in renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives.
