Organised by World Energy Council Finland
On Thursday, 2 October 2025, from 09:30–16:30, at the Restaurant & Event Arena Bank, Unioninkatu 20, Helsinki.
The programme examines the energy transition in turbulent times: the role of the EU Energy Union for competitiveness, decarbonisation and security, enabling investments, the shifting focus of innovation, the impact of data centres, and solutions for the electricity market. The event is also one of the year’s most significant networking opportunities for leaders and experts across the sector.
Keynotes by Vesa Terävä (European Commission), Mika Anttonen (St1) and Mervi Airaksinen (Microsoft Europe North); Riku Huttunen (Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland) on national policy; Professor Sanna Syri (Aalto University) with an academic perspective; and Jukka Savolainen (Hybrid CoE) on resilience and hybrid threats.
Industry insights will be provided by Olli Sirkka (Helen). We’ll also hear from Kalle Härkki (VTT) on the shift in innovation focus, and Oliver Pearce (AFRY) modelling Finland’s consumption and production outlook.
The day will conclude with a high-level electricity-market panel featuring Markus Rauramo (Fortum), Mervi Airaksinen (Microsoft Europe North) and Andrus Durejko (Enefit), moderated by Teppo Säkkinen (Finland Chamber of Commerce), followed by a cocktail reception and an Energy Dinner.
