Special tour of ITER and Tokamak WEST
Organised by World Energy Council France.
The World Energy Council France organised for its members on Friday, 10 April 2026, from 10:30 am -16:45 pm, an exceptional visit to the heart of nuclear fusion: ITER, combined with a tour of Tokamak WEST at CEA Cadarache, which since February 2025 has held the world record for fusion plasma duration, far exceeding the previous record set in the EAST tokamak (China).
The provisional programme for the day is as follows:
- 9.15 a.m.: Meet at Aix-en-Provence TGV station, then transfer to the ITER site (Saint-Paul-lès-Durance)
- Visit to ITER: Presentation of the project, tour of the site and discussions with ITER management
- Lunch on site, then transfer to the CEA
- Exclusive tour of the WEST Tokamak and presentation of the CEA Cadarache's activities
- Discussions with nuclear fusion experts on the state of the art and future prospects
- Return to Aix-en-Provence TGV station at the end of the day (around 7 p.m.)
