Germany’s Energy Transition in a Changing World – International Perspectives 2025

Organised by the World Energy Council Germany

On Monday, 30 June 2025, from 14:00 to 15:00.

The past few years have been marked by far-reaching global developments, including geopolitical tensions and challenges for international energy and climate policy. These events have had a lasting impact not only on national energy policies, but also on international cooperation and the global energy transition.

Against this background, the World Energy Council – Germany has collected and analysed over 100 responses from more than 40 countries. The aim was to gain a picture of the mood on the German energy transition from an international perspective: What expectations does the world have of Germany? Is German energy policy considered a possible model? And: Is stronger international cooperation necessary to achieve global energy and climate goals?

The webinar will present key messages and findings from this survey. World Energy Council Executive Director Dr. Carsten Rolle will then lead a discussion with international experts on the topic of "Germany's Energy Transition in a Changing World – Expectations, Impact, and Global Lessons". Among others, Marcus Hicken, Commissioner for Foreign Energy Policy, Climate and Security at the Federal Foreign Office, and Minxi Fu, Co-Founder, LVT, will be present. Energy.

The webinar will be held in English.
