About the event
The Annual Event of the Spanish Committee of the World Energy Council (CECME) is a flagship gathering of the Spanish energy sector, organised by CECME together with the Spanish Energy Club (Enerclub) and sponsored this year by EDP. The 2026 edition, "Energy Security and Resilience in a Changing World," takes place in Madrid on 5 November 2026 and convenes institutional leaders, industry experts, and stakeholders around the year's most pressing themes: the geopolitics of the energy transition, lessons from international crises (Ukraine, Iran), the resilience of critical infrastructure, critical minerals, and the energy trilemma. The programme opens with an institutional session featuring CECME President Duarte Bello, Enerclub President Maarten Wetselaar, and Spain's Ministry for the Energy Transition, followed by the dialogue session "Geopolitics and perspectives on the energy transition," in which you are invited to take part alongside Duarte Bello.
