10 Years of Power System Stability: Lessons Learned for a Resilient Future After a Blackout

Organised by World Energy Council Dominican Republic

On Tuesday, 2 December 2025, from 6:00 pm (AST Dominican Republic).

The World Energy Council’s Dominican Republic Member Committee is pleased to invite the global energy community to a special webinar reflecting on a decade of strengthened resilience in the national electricity system.

In 2015, the Dominican Republic faced a major blackout that tested the operational robustness, crisis response capabilities, and adaptability of the power sector. Ten years later, experts will revisit this milestone to explore:

  • What has evolved in grid reliability and operational planning
  • Key technology upgrades and regulatory improvements
  • Strategic responses to emergency situations
  • Future preparedness for extreme events and system disruptions

This conversation will benefit policymakers, utilities, system operators, engineers, investors, and all stakeholders working to build more secure and resilient power systems in the face of growing global challenges.
