Electricity and Climate Change: Business Strategies in a Changing World
Hosted by the World Energy Council Dominican Republic
On Thursday, 26 June 2025, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
As the impacts of climate change become increasingly evident across energy systems, the World Energy Council Dominican Republic invites the global energy community to join a high-level forum exploring the future of electricity in a warming world.
This timely event, “Electricity and Climate Change: Business Strategies in a Changing World”, will convene government leaders, energy experts, and private sector innovators to examine how climate variability, extreme weather events, and emerging technologies are reshaping the electric sector and prompting a new wave of strategic adaptation.
Through two expert panels—focused on the physical impacts of climate change on power systems and the integration of climate data into business strategy—the forum will highlight real-world experiences from across Latin America, the Caribbean and beyond. Special attention will be given to practical tools and policy approaches supporting a just and resilient energy transition.
Held in Santo Domingo and featuring national and international speakers, this event is part of the Council’s broader mission to elevate regionally grounded insights and foster inclusive energy dialogues that anticipate future disruptions and enable sustainable solutions.
