Gathering Overview

The Lebanon Committee of the World Energy Council convened its second gathering of 2026 on 23 June at Portemilio Hotel & Resort in Kaslik, bringing together committee members and energy stakeholders to discuss key developments shaping Lebanon’s energy sector.

The gathering featured a presentation by Dr Sorina Mourtada, member of the Lebanese Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), on its mandate and planned activities, with discussions focusing on the Authority’s role in advancing renewable energy and implementing Lebanon’s electricity sector reforms under laws 462/2002 and 318/2023.

Participants also received the latest updates on the preparations for the Lebanon Grand Energy Event 2026, including the launch of the event’s new website.
