Third Gathering of the Lebanon Committee of the World Energy Council

On Wednesday, 7 May 2025, from 10:15 am - 4:00 pm.
This full-day event will spotlight two critical pillars of Lebanon’s sustainable energy agenda: Project Development and Electricity Regulation.
Moderated by Mr. Pierre El Khoury, Senior Energy Advisor and Secretary of the Lebanon Committee of the WEC, the event will bring together leading energy experts and institutions to explore current initiatives and policy pathways.
Highlights include:
- A preview of a new national campaign to promote energy-efficient home appliances, launched in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition.
- Key updates on solar PV projects and efforts to revive the decentralised solar energy market, with insights from the EBRD, GIZ, and the Lebanese Centre for Energy Conservation (LCEC).
- A presentation of the 2022-2023 Solar PV Status Report and the new Sustainable Energy Cluster Initiative by Berytech.
- A forward-looking discussion on building Lebanon’s Electricity Regulatory Authority, featuring best practices from the U.S. and contributions from international and local experts.
The day includes multiple Q&A sessions, a networking buffet lunch, and opportunities to engage directly with project leaders and policymakers shaping Lebanon’s energy future.
