International Women’s Day 2026 Webinar
Powering Possibility: When Women Rise, the World Moves
Organised by World Energy Council South Africa
On Thursday, 12 March 2026.
The World Energy Council South Africa, in collaboration with Lean In Southern Africa Leaders in Equity & Sustainability NPC, hosted a global webinar to mark International Women’s Day.
Bringing together leaders, emerging voices, and change-makers from across the energy and sustainability ecosystem, the session explored how inclusive leadership can unlock progress not only for women, but for economies, industries, and societies at large. As the world navigates energy transition, technological disruption, and shifting global priorities, the conversation reinforced a clear message: advancing women is essential to driving innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth.
The webinar featured a dynamic global dialogue centred on four key themes: enabling access and opportunity, designing systems that foster fairness and belonging, accelerating action across sectors, and strengthening collective leadership across generations and regions.
Designed as an interactive experience, the session combined leadership insights with real-time audience engagement, including live polling and reflections, as well as an intergenerational spotlight highlighting perspectives from emerging leaders.
The event concluded with a collective call to action, encouraging participants to translate commitments into tangible outcomes and to continue advancing inclusion within their respective spheres of influence.
This global exchange reaffirmed that progress is not powered by intention alone, but by people — and that when women rise, possibility expands, and the world moves forward.
