World Energy Week 2025 brought together the World Energy Council’s global community alongside energy leaders, policymakers, and innovators to exchange ideas and forge partnerships. The event connected diverse regional realities and priorities with the global energy agenda to showcase practical, actionable and impactful solutions as we build a better energy future for all.
Co-hosted by the World Energy Council and the National Secretariat of Energy of Panama, the event transformed Panama City into a global stage for dialogue and collaboration. Set against the country’s unique location as a bridge between regions and a hub for global trade, the week showcased how diverse perspectives can drive collective progress in an increasingly interconnected yet fragmented world.
World Energy Week 2025 celebrated the power of collaboration and the importance of connection in shaping a more sustainable energy future.
“World Energy Week is a powerful platform that connects the global energy agenda with the realities and priorities of energy transitions here in Panama,” said Jorge Rivera Staff, National Energy Secretary of Panama. “We are thrilled to host this important energy event in 2025 and convene the World Energy Council's global community to progress faster, fairer and more far reaching energy transitions."
“Convening and connecting visionary leaders across the world energy ecosystem for impactful conversations is essential in making energy transitions happen. Accelerating decarbonisation with justice and resilience is the best way to secure more energy for better lives and the health of the planet that we all call home,” said Dr Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council. “World Energy Week is an important platform for conversations and collaborations which leverage the diversity, flexibility and scalability of the Council’s global community network.
“The confirmation of Panama as the World Energy Week 2025 host is a great opportunity for both our country, for the American continent, and especially for the LAC region," said Claudio Seebach, Executive Chairman of Generadoras de Chile, the business association of Chilean electricity generators, and the World Energy Council Vice Chair for Latin America and the Caribbean. "World Energy Week provides the opportunity to meet with representatives of the whole world energy community, share experiences and perspectives about energy transitions pathways, and exchange possible solutions as we accelerate a path forward. It truly is a must-attend event."
“World Energy Week provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase the vibrant energy sector from across the Latin American region, and create a hub of ideas connecting people from all over the world, as we work to humanise energy and progress clean and just energy transitions,” said Hector Cotes, Chair of the World Energy Council Panama Member Committee. “We are thrilled to host the upcoming World Energy Week 2025 in Panama.”
