We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the World Energy Council’s World Energy Women Dialogues, a new series of conversations led by the World Energy Council and hosted for this inaugural edition by the Italian Member Committee, designed to connect and activate women leaders across our Energy Community. While centred on women’s leadership and experiences across the energy sector, this conversation is open to the broader World Energy Council community, and we warmly encourage the participation of both women and men across our membership network.

This conversation will bring together leading voices from across the energy sector to explore how leadership is helping shape the future of the energy transition.

As the energy sector continues to evolve in response to decarbonisation, digitalisation, security challenges and affordability pressures, the role of leadership and diversity is becoming increasingly important in shaping resilient and forward-looking energy systems.

The session will bring together global leaders to discuss:

• Leadership in today’s rapidly evolving energy landscape
• Real-world experiences and tangible impact
• Perspectives from different regions and sectors

The discussion will include keynote remarks, a moderated conversation among global leaders and an interactive Q&A session with participants.

Insights and perspectives emerging from this dialogue will also help inform future conversations and strengthen collaboration and engagement across the World Energy Council community throughout the year.

Event Overview

During the event, we had the pleasure of launching the World Energy Women Dialogues, a new international platform of the World Energy Council hosted by WEC Italia - Comitato Italiano del World Energy Council and designed to connect women leaders and professionals from across the global energy community.

The discussion brought together perspectives from Europe, Africa and the Middle East on some of the key questions shaping the future of energy: the role of women in the energy transition, leadership in a rapidly transforming sector, the importance of skills and STEM education, mentorship and sponsorship, talent retention, and the opportunities created by innovation and new technologies.

While significant progress has been made in recent years, a common message emerged across regions and sectors: women are already shaping energy systems every day as engineers, entrepreneurs, researchers, operators, managers, policymakers and consumers, despite that they they remain underrepresented in many areas of the energy industry, particularly in leadership and decision-making roles. For this reason, creating opportunities for visibility, mentorship, professional development and international collaboration, while fostering a stronger culture of inclusion across the sector, remains essential.

This is precisely the ambition of the World Energy Women Dialogues: not only to share experiences and success stories, but also to connect people, initiatives and perspectives from across the world, helping to strengthen women's contribution to the energy sector and inspire future generations.
