Alessandra Amaral

Executive Director, Association of Latin American Electricity Distributors

Alessandra Amaral has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, with a focus on Finance, from PUC (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro). She also holds a MBA in Business Management from the Dom Cabral Foundation and a MBA in Marketing from COPPEAD-UFRJ.

She has over 30 years of experience as an executive in large corporations, such as Vale, Coca-Cola, and Energisa, where she served as Corporate Director of Market and Energy Commercialization and CEO of Energisa Comercializadora. More recently, she held the position of Director of Generation, Commercialization and Regulatory Affairs at Light.

She served as a board member of ONS (National System Operator), Norte Energia, ABRADEE (Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors), APINE (Association of Independent Energy Producers), ABRACEEL (Brazilian Association of Energy Traders), ACRJ (Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro) and FIRJAN (Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro).

In 2023, she served as a Consultant for GESEL (Study Group on the Electric Sector) at UFRJ, focusing on consultancy projects in the areas of Regulation, Renewal of Concessions, Storage System, and Green Hydrogen. In November 2023, she took on the role of Executive Director of Adelat (Association of Electric Power Distributors of Latin America), which encompasses a group of 23 companies distributed across Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Peru.
