Martin Abeles

Chief of the Natural Resources Division, UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN ECLAC)

Martín Abeles is the Chief of the Natural Resources Division at the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN ECLAC). He studied economics at the University of Buenos Aires University (UBA) and got his PhD at the New School University, New York. Prior to his time in ECLAC, Martín Abeles was a research fellow at the Economics and Technology Department in the Latin American School of Social Sciences in Argentina (FLACSO), the Research Director at the Center of Economy and Finance for the Development of Argentina (CEFID-AR) and held several positions at Argentina’s Ministry of Finance.
