Mayka McCalla

Mayka McCalla is AES Corporate HR Global and Organizational Development leader with 15+ years of experience driving culture, talent, and leadership transformation across Latin America, the Caribbean, and global markets at AES. As Vice President of HR for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, she led five markets to achieve Great Place to Work certification for more than 10 consecutive years, while advancing diversity, inclusion, and women’s leadership programs.
She later took on global responsibility for Learning & Development, spearheading AES’s first company-wide learning platform (Workday Learning) and building scalable development programs in innovation, digital fluency, and wellness critical during the pandemic. Currently, as Global Organizational Development Vice-president, Mayka shapes AES’s culture, talent strategy, employee experience, and inclusion & belonging practices. She has designed and led initiatives such as the AEStarformers team-building program, a digital wellness platform, and Work-Life Balance certifications for AES Panama.
Passionate about unlocking people’s potential, Mayka has been instrumental in talent strategies for major projects, including the AES Colón LNG plant, the Eastern Pipeline in the Dominican Republic, and renewable energy development across México, Centro América and the Caribbean. Recognized as the Panama Women Leader of the year for 2024, Mayka holds a Master’s in HR and Finance, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, executive education from Georgetown, University of Virginia (Darden), ADEN Business School, and a Business degree from the University of San Francisco. She is also an ICC-certified coach. Outside of work, Mayka enjoys family, cooking, meditation, and mentoring others.
