Sandoval Feitosa
General Director, National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL)
General Director of ANEEL since August 2022, Sandoval Feitosa has been a career civil servant in the ANEEL Regulatory Specialist position since 2005. He worked in the Agency’s inspection area for 9 years, conducting technical audits in electricity distribution and transmission concessionaires. In 2014, he took on the role of Advisor to the ANEEL Board and, in May 2015, was appointed Superintendent of Transmission Services Regulation. Later, in 2017, he returned to the Superintendency of Electricity Services Inspection as Superintendent. He was appointed as ANEEL Director in May 2018, completing his term in March 2022.
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Maranhão (2002), a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Brasília (2009), an MBA in Business Management with an emphasis on Strategy from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (2017), and completed the Program on Utility Regulation and Strategy at the Warrington College of Business, University of Florida.
Before working at ANEEL, he worked in electricity distribution and transmission companies. From 2018 to 2020, he also served as Director at the Brazilian Association of Regulatory Agencies – ABAR, advocating for national regulation at the federal, state, and municipal levels. He has a special interest in discussions on the modernization of the Brazilian electricity sector, energy transition, distributed energy resources, and the analysis of the socio-environmental impacts of electricity on transforming and improving people's lives.
