Sun Tao
Chairman, State Grid Brazil Holding
Sun Tao is the Chairman of State Grid Brazil Holding. He was appointed Chairman in March 2023, after serving as CEO from April 2022 to March 2023. Earlier in his career, he was the First Vice President of Gansu Electric Power Corporation in China.
He brings more than two decades of experience spanning ultra-high-voltage transmission project construction, procurement management, corporate communications, poverty-alleviation initiatives, and the construction and operation of overseas projects. Since joining State Grid Corporation of China in 2003, he has led complex, large-scale programs and cross-border teams to deliver reliable energy infrastructure and organizational performance improvements.
Sun Tao holds a doctorate in electric power system operation and construction, a master’s degree in high-voltage technology, and a bachelor’s degree in automation and power systems.
