Visa information for World Energy Week 2025 in Panama

Important: Visa applications must be submitted by 6 August 2025, 17:00 (GMT-5) to ensure sufficient time for processing.

If a visa is required, please read the information below carefully and follow the steps as early as possible.

You may not need a visa if you hold a valid, multiple-entry visa or residence permit from one of the following countries or regions:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • European Union (Schengen Area)
  • Australia
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Singapore

To qualify for this exception:

  • Your visa or permit must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival in Panama
  • You must have used it previously to enter the issuing country

If you do not meet these criteria, you must apply for a Panamanian visa.

Note: At present, visa applications from Venezuelan nationals cannot be processed due to diplomatic restrictions.

In most cases, the following documents will be needed:

  • Completed Tourist Visa Application Form [requires link to the file titled “Formulario de visa de turista  Panamá 20250425”]
  • Copy of all pages of your valid passport (valid for at least 6 months after arrival in Panama)
  • Copy of your residence permit or ID in your country of residence
  • Three (3) passport-size photos
  • Proof of travel (confirmed round-trip airline ticket)
  • Hotel reservation confirmation
  • Proof of financial means, such as:
    • Bank or credit card statements (from the last month)
    • Employment certificate and latest payslip
    • Pension or tax return documents (if self-employed or retired)
  • Proof of visa application fee payment (see Step 3)
  • Request an official invitation letter by emailing eventos@congrex.com.pa

Important:

  • All foreign documents must be apostilled or authenticated by a Panamanian consulate.
  • All documents must be translated into Spanish by a certified public translator in Panama.

Before collecting your documents, we ask you to first contact the Embassy or Consulate of Panama in your country. They can confirm the exact documentation required in your specific case.

If there’s a Panamanian consulate in your country:

  1. Visit the consulate to submit your application and all required documents
  2. Pay the non-refundable visa fee of $50 USD per person at the consulate
  3. If approved, return to the consulate to have the visa stamped into your passport

Additional notes

  • Incomplete or non-compliant applications may be rejected by Panama’s National Immigration Service
  • If your documents are in a language other than Spanish, they must be officially translated in Panama by an authorized public translator.
  • If your financial documents are in a currency other than USD, an official currency conversion from the National Bank of Panama is required
  • The immigration authority may request additional documentation depending on individual circumstances
