WEC India has launched its India Energy Portal, a one-stop online resource housed within the WEC India website.

The portal focuses on Indian energy sector but also has a section covering global energy drawn on the WEC’s studies and data repository.

It monitors trends in energy demand, consumption, reserves, installed capacity, energy indicators and other relevant information cutting across entire energy spectrum covering power, oil and gas, coal, nuclear and renewables, all presented via interactive graphics, charts and maps. Its data can be downloaded in various formats.

The portal focuses on the India’s energy policies, regulations and acts. A section on India energy scenarios looks at the different scenarios of India’s Integrated Energy Policy 2006.

The portal also contains a section, ‘Energy Tools & Utilities’, including an energy converter, a fuel consumption calculator, a CO2 emissions calculator for coal-based and gas-based power plants. More tools are in the pipeline.
