Dr Latsoucabé Fall, WEC Regional Manager for Africa, spoke at the Power and Electricity World Africa conference, held in Johannesburg on 27–28 March.

Dr Fall addressed more than 300 high-level participants in the keynote panel, “Africa’s Future Energy Mix”, and also chaired the roundtable, “Steps to developing a steady nuclear industry in Africa”.

He said fossil fuels would likely continue to dominate Africa’s energy mix in the next three to five decades, after which they would start to become depleted. He also commended South Africa’s efforts so far in deploying renewable energy.
