World Energy Week, hosted this year by the Council’s Portuguese member committee and supported by the Ministry of Economy, will offer several high-level discussions, this week,  16 – 19 October.

More than 400 energy leaders and top level public and private sector participants including Ministers, CEOs and the Council’s international community, will convene to share best practice and identify solutions to the Energy Trilemma during a dedicated Summit, as well as World Energy Leaders’ and Future Energy Leaders’ Summits.

Christoph Frei, Secretary General, World Energy Council said:

“The week will be an opportune time to explore and summarise key features of the new energy realities and their critical implications on the energy sector and highlight the way forward for the global energy community.”

The week will also feature a dedicated conference, organised by the Portuguese member committee on insights into keeping ahead of the energy challenges. It will explore decarbonising the economy, specifically energy generation and transport sector, as well as recasting electricity markets design from the viewpoint of the supplier and both the regulator and the market operator.

The Executive Assembly is the World Energy Council’s principal general gathering of global energy leaders dedicated to promoting the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all.
