Dr Naif Mohammed Alabbadi

Dr. Naif Mohammed Alabbadi is Chair, World Energy Congress 2026. Currently the Advisor to the Minister for Electricity Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Energy, he has over three decades of experience across government, research, and international collaboration. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Sciences) from the University of Iowa and is a certified Project Management Professional.
Dr. Alabbadi has served as Deputy Minister for Electricity, Director General of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, and Director of the Energy Research Institute at KACST, in addition to chairing and serving on boards including the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority and the Education & Training Evaluation Commission. Widely published in renewable energy and efficiency, he has represented Saudi Arabia in regional and international forums and played a leading role in shaping national energy strategies, standards, and innovation programmes.
