Energy transition and competition for resources in the region (Plenary session from Kazakhstan)

The world is entering a stage of the so-called Fourth Energy Transition that involves the widespread use of renewable energy sources and the displacement of fossil fuels. However, the speed of the transition is linked with high uncertainty and diverse global pathways. As the world recovers from the Covid-19 crisis, how are Central Asian countries and societies managing the rise in demand for energy and raw materials while meeting the goals of climate neutrality and energy for better lives?
