The meeting between the World Energy Council's London Secretariat and the Dominican Republic Member Committee was hosted by the utility company Consorcio Energético Punta Cana  - Macao (CEPM) on the 7th of January.  The main points of discussion were strategic alignments between the Member Committee and the Council, as well as reviewing areas in which the Member Committee could further engage.

The Dominican Republic Member Committee is presently working on developing its activities in order to provide a platform for dialogue and strategic thinking for the sector. This is a crucial development, as actors of the energy system tend to be “stuck in their day to day” and lack the capacity to take a step back and look at what is going on in other countries and other regions, and develop strategies. The Member Committee, via the Insights tool and the international network of the Council, hopes to be able to provide this platform for strategy and vision development.
