The first FEL week designed by FEL-100 with exclusive activities to include visits to Adama wind farms I and II, a Future Energy Leaders Summit, FEL Summit, strategic workshops and preparation of the work of the FEL taskforces for 2016 will take place at the Executive Assembly.

Pirjo Jantunen, Chair of FEL-100 said: “I have high expectations for the first FEL week. It will be an awesome kick-off for our taskforce work and also a good chance to develop the FEL programme further. I encourage all Executive Assembly participants to get to know FEL-100!. The FEL week presents a tremendous opportunity for us to exchange ideas and prepare for next year as well as meet global energy leaders from across the world. I’m looking forward to a lively exchange of thoughts with everyone.”

The 2015 FEL Summit follows the successful gathering last year in Cartagena, Colombia, where Future Energy Leaders developed key principles leading to the formalisation of the FEL-100 and its transformation into an ongoing programme.

For the first time, the FEL-100 will take part in a week designed by young professionals for young professionals with exclusive activities and interaction opportunities with senior energy leaders from across the globe. This important event comes at a time of great uncertainty in energy prices, climate negotiations, and geopolitical conflicts.

During the week, future energy leaders from across the globe will spend time working on the taskforces they designed which include pressing topics such as influences of digital technologies in  new business models, energy access, overcoming human resources shortages, climate change as well as consumers and their impact on energy efficiency.
